Reinstalling Ts2010

I need some help re-installing TS2010 please.

Due to having a new Hard Drive installed I need a few bits of info:-
1. I have the CD version but unfortunately I no longer have to box it came in where, presumably, the Serial No. was :'( . Any help there please.

2. What SPs do I need from TS2009 if I install it as an addon. Presumably if I install as standalone I don't need any SPs

Any help would be appreciated

1.You should be able to retrieve your serial number by clicking 'Serial Number' above then looking down to find the serial number under the appropriate heading. (This applies if you remembered to register it with Auran/N3V Games. If not, you may have to buy a new copy)
2.TS2010 has it's own Service packs (also, I'm not aware of TS2010 being installed as an addon to TS2009 - someone correct me if I am wrong here)

If you have the manual that came with 2010 you should find the Serial number on back of the last page.

Thanks for the replies.. I have now found the Serial No. Now I am being asked for the CD key.. Where is that?

Have installd Windows 7 TS 2009 works perfectly, have also installed from CD TS 2010, have copied serial number from rear cover off manual, but when I i paste it to TS 2010 get message wrong/not valid serial number, are you using English letters.
Advice will be much appreciated by Redpost.

Might be worth trying it with and without the dashes (-) between the parts.

I myself had to reinstall TS2010 and when I was asked to input my CD Key, I recieved the same message as Redpost. I tried the serial with and without the dash marks, but it didn't work either way.

trainz 2010EE

i purchacsed the dowloaded version of trainz 2010EE and when running the set up it's asking to insert a Cd which did not come with a downloaded version. i also get a message it could not locate binl1 or something of that type. anyone have any ideas whats wrong?

You must download all of the files on the download page - this includes the .exe file and all the .bin files - into the same folder.

I've tried that, I've tried with/without dashes, etc. Still no luck. I don't expect you to know what's wrong, but thanks for what little help you could give

Apart from checking that you are entering the right serial number, it's very odd for it to not work. It should accept the same serial number as given to the installer (the only conflict area I am aware of is if you also have TS2009)

Don't worry though, I will keep trying until either the problem is resolved, or a support ticket is required.

Also, make sure you have entered your username/password correctly. (It does make me wonder if the validation servers are playing up)

If you are copying and pasting in the Serial Number/CD-Key, make sure you're not copying any extra spaces, like at the end of the text. This will also cause the same error.

I have the same problem as redpost has
I installed TRS2010EE a few days ago and had to re-install it today. If I enter my serial number in the installer it works fine, but if I then enter it in the trainz configuration dialogue that pops up after starting trainz, I get the message that my serial key is not valid (though it worked a few days ago).

Please, do not tell me to try it with/without dashes or to watch out for any extra spaces.....there is only one simple fact: It doesn't work with that serial key! So what can I do now?

Make sure you are connected to the Internet during that part, as it has to validate against the Auran servers.

Also, make sure you enter your username/password correctly.

Hi Shane, thank you for your fast reply.
I am connected to the Internet and username/password are correct, too, so this cannot be the problem.
Currently I am installing the latest patch, maybe that helps.....

Ok, I found the problem.

It was neither the cd key nor username/password nor the missing patch, it was an erroneous installation of trains2010ee! The latest patch failed and so I deinstalled the whole software and installed it again. And..surprise, surprise...I even didn't need to enter the serial number now, it was already there.
The only difference to the re-installation I did before was, that I did a system restart between deinstallation and re-installation....maybe one should try that if he or she has the same problem.

Missing Serial No

Hi guys
You seem to be lucky. Most of you seems to have or have had a Serial No. I bought TS2010 a few days ago at a giant electronic shop Media Markt. There was no serial number anywhere on the manual, or the discs, on or behind the cover. Mailed Auran helpdesk and got a quick answer that they will try to answer within five days!!
Same problem anyone?
