Red Lines Under Fence

What is the purpode of red lines under a fence?

Also, maybe tied in, I have twice had roads disappear and red lines in their place. The only way to get rid of them was to go into track editor and delete from there.

i believe you will not see the red lines in Driver, just in the Surveyor

These are invisible track splines which are sometimes used to locate spline objects. They are, as said above, visible only in Surveyor and only the fence is visible in Driver. I am not sure why they are sometimes used as walls etc. can be just as easily made as splines without the invisible track. Perhaps someone would enlighten me?
