They can, but they haven't. The railroad, including 425, 2102 and the passenger cars, are all owned by Andy Muller. Since it belongs to him, it's his call if he wants 2102 rebuilt. It was his call when 425 was rebuilt after 11 years sitting in the shops, and it's his call again for 2102. But he hasn't, so it won't be rebuilt. So there

The 2102 has not been rebuilt. It has been sitting out of service since October 1991, so it's been out of service for about 19 years

The 2102 was rather worn out after about 10 years of excursion service and another four years in regular tourist service. It was expected to undergo a rebuild in late 1991, but it was discovered that it would require more rebuild than expected. The railroad instead refocused efforts on the 425, since it was a more reasonably sized engine and in much better shape

Actually, 2102 is a complete freight hog. All Reading used the T-1s on was on coal drages. The T-1s were only used on passenger trains when the Reading Rambles came along.

In addition, the Reading & Northern did test 2102 out on a couple coal trains during the early 90s. It certainly was a return to the engines roots

2102 did pull coal trains on the Reading Company. And have a photo coal train on the Reading and Northern in 1991. To start the Blue Mountain and Reading ,s 1991 tourist season.

RBMN steam in bradford county pa

Can the 2102 pull the RBMN Coachs on the longer runs. Like from port clinton to sayre pa?

Ease up a bit...some people like to talk about trains here.

Sorry LWVRR,

I too like to talk about trains, but its just that he uses this site basicly as a train "google" without using the search button or using the real "Google".

I didnt mean to realy offend anyone. Just kind of anoyed by DP is all.

You have got to be kidding me. It's as if you don't understand or read anything we tell you. To quote a great comic strip, "How can kids know so much, and still be so dumb?"

There are many reasons why this idea makes no sense, but I will keep it brief to save my time and so your feeble brain can process it all.

JIM THROPE NO HAVE STRAIGHT ROUTE. MUST USE TURNTABLE FOR LONGER TRIP.

SAYRE, PA ON NORFOLK SOUTHERN. NS REQUIRE COACHES HAVE ROLLER BEARINGS. RBMN COACHES NO HAVE ROLLER BEARINGS, SO NO RBMN COACHES ON NORFOLK SOUTHERN.
RBMN NO WANT RUN TRIP OVER LINE NOT THEIR'S

RBMN HAVE NO REASON RUN STEAM TO SAYRE, PA. TRIPS TO JIM THROPE POPULAR ENOUGH.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: 2102 NOT OPERABLE. TOO MUCH MONEY FOR FIX 2102. COST TWO MILLION DOLLARS AND YEARS OF WORK. RBMN NOT INTERESTED IN WORK NOW

THE ONLY THING THAT IS GETTING TURNED ARE THE BRAKE DRUMS ON MY MUSTANG, NOW STOP THESE SENSELESS THREADS........
