re:WATER SETTINGS

Hi .. I have often wondered and now i put it to everyone here ... my question is ;

Q: WHY IS IT THAT WHEN EVER I GO TO CHANGE MY WATER FROM GLASSY TO ROUGH IT IS ONLY SLIGHTLY RIPPLY? AND IS THERE A WAY TO CHANGE IT IT SO THAT WHEN I CHOOSE A SETTING IT DOES EXACTLY WHAT I WANT IT TO DO?

I await your responses as i would love to get this answered

hello robin,

answer to your question is , maybe your settings are too high or too low. try messing around with the Native/compatibility mode . or try updating your game

If you're asking about water color settings, this is done in the Environment settings in Surveyor. In TRS2004-TRS2009, this is located with the weather on the right hand side of the screen - it's on a tab just like track, scenery, and topology. On TS2010, it's located on the pull down Surveyor menu located on the top left. Look for Environment Settings, and change it there.

For some reason it got moved when Auran added the layers tab to the interface.

This iinterface has different environment types, water color adjustments, types of clouds, and even an option to change your weather from sunny to really stormy.

In addition to adjusting the water color, try adding darker or lighter textures to the water area. This will give the water some depth.

I hope this helps.

Hehe.
This old chestnet!

You'll find that the aspect of Trainz that has the most affect on the water is the type of cloud that you have in the sky.

The default sky is pretty bland, hence very little reflection on the water.
So change the water to heavy and then scroll though the different skies and sit back in amazement as the water comes alive!!!

:D

If this doesn't work, you may have a very old graphics card that doesn't support modern shaders.

So, it was bound to happen: Somebody would ask (me): Can we set the water to whatever we desire for that particular area of, let's say, the coast, and different one for a lake? as it is now you change the ripples here, and it affects all the waters of your World, lakes, rivers and peaceful lakes...!
