Re-saving consists

I know this is probably more a subject suited to the Suggestions section, but I do not have access to that part of the Forum.

When saving a consist to that section of the Surveyor, it would be useful if Goods Wagons could be saved as configured for particular loads.

I have tried this a couple of times but the wagons revert to their 'natural' state, when re-installed to the track.

To solve this problem create a new loaded wagon...

For TRS04: Using Trainz Objectz find the folder for the original wagon and copy it to the desktop. Open the wagon's folder, then open the config file. Find the 'Load' entries and edit the 'Initial_Count' value to be the same as the 'Size' value. Edit the asset's kuid to a unique kuid of your own. Change the 'Username' entry to distinguish the wagon from the original (I just add ' - Loaded' to the original name).

Save the edited config and move the folder into your 'World/Custom/' folder.

You now have a new loaded version of the original wagon. If you use the new wagon for your consists, it will always start loaded.

It is perfectly OK to make these changes for your own use, but if you are making a session or scenario for upload, you will need the original creators permission to upload the new wagon.

In TRS06 the procedure is much the same, but use the 'Clone' feature of CMP.
