Ralston City Rail Lines

Here I go again...

I was looking through a bunch of old papers I had found in that pile I know almost everyone in the world has...the Infamous Junk Pile. I came across an old idea I had for a Trainz route which I drew up at an airport, but I never got around to making. Now, it is REBORN! Muahahahaha! Anyway, here's 2 pictures I have on this computer. (Why I use two, I don't know).

1. The First Train I ran on the line pulls into Downtown Ralston Station. There will only be 4 Stations on the layout: Old Ralston, Ralston City (Festival Lane), Crusader Bay, and...(I forgot the other one :confused: ).

2. The Union Pacific Daily Train from Crusader Bay Loading Dock, binds around the downtown Ralston City area.

Ok, since nobody replied to my first attempt at this, I've decided to keep at it, and add more to the Ralston City lines. The route isn't great at all, just a place to run some trains. Here is some information.

So, there are 5 railroads that operate in this region: Amtrak, Union Pacific, BNSF, Canadian National, and CSX.

~~~Main Yards~~~
AMTRAK: Main Yard is located west of Crusader Bay.
BNSF: Main Yard is located east of Crusader Bay.
CN: Main Yard is located at Old Ralston.
CSX: Main Yard is located north of Ralston City.
UP: Main Yard is located in Havenshire, west of Crusader Bay
~~~Subdivisions~~~

AMTRAK: One route; The Eagle, Servicing each town in the vicinity of Ralston City.
BNSF: Field Sub; BNSF Main Yard to Sunset Flats "Mega Yard"
CN: Industry Sub; CN Main Yard to Sand Rock Road, CSX Interchange
CSX: Industry Sub 2; Main Yard to Sand Rock Coal Mine in the west, Main Yard in the north, and Sand Rock road in the South.
UP: Sunset Sub; Msin Yard to Sunset Flats "Mega Yard"

~~~Industries~~~
AMTRAK: None
BNSF: Ford Plant
CN: Coal Mine
CSX: Coal Mine
UP: Power Plant, Coal Mine
Thats pretty much all. I'll be posting pictures tomorrow of my progress.
Updated Pictures!
Today, I went over to the Sand Rock Station to see what kind of action I could catch. Within 5 minutes of arriving, a UP C30-7, and a CSX Mixed Freight came by. This isn't rare now, but once their line is done to Sunset Flats, they won't be running trains on this route.
I drove up the tracks to Sand Rock Road, where ownership of the tracks changes from CSX to CN.
At the Ralston City Furniture Manufacturing Center, we catch him coming around the corner.
Leaving Crusader Bay, and passing over the Amtrak Junction. This section of track is now owned by the UP, but will be rarely used after the route to Sunset Flats is complete. Amtrak will use their line to the North, BNSF will use their line just to the east of Crusader Bay, CN will always be east of this section, and CSX will always be northeast of this section.
Entering the Huntington Tunnel. (Huntington is Havenshire)
Couldn't follow him after this, he goes through a short tunnel and comes out in Huntington/Havenshire.
It looks like it's coming along nicely. The only part I take exception to are the mountains.
Mountains are funny in that they usually don't look so abrupt when you are close to them. Some places in the world, where a flat desert is backed by mountains you can see them from a great distance, and they are impressive. Most places though you meet the heights with a gradual rise in the lay of the land, and may not even realize how high you are traveling.
My opinion only, and if you ask anyone here, it's not worth much...:)
Hey Euphod,
I knew that sooner or later someone would ask about the mountains.:hehe:
The reason I made them that way, well, to put it simple, that was the way I drew them up on the piece of paper I've been making reference to. The layout is a bit abstract, if you will. It totally re-defines the theory of tectonic plates and the forming of mountains, and I know everyone nowadays is focused on making routes as "Lifelike" as possible, or modelling a specific route in the world. I've just decided to make Ralston City what I first imagined it to be. Going off topic here for a second, you know how you imagine and think about stuff when you are going to sleep? Well, I came up with this in a very similar occasion...waiting at an airport...boring. Back on track (No pun intended), this is just what I imagined, and I wish there were more routes like this, not going along with the same old real-world stuff I see all around...although some pictures look almost real!
Thanks for your nice comments and suggestions,
Okay, you got me thinking Ice Age now with the sheer towering Glaciers looming over everything. Who knows, if civilization will survive long enough to have to bore a tunnel through a glacier?:)
Hey "Milky" and others,
I've decided to mix things up a bit. I've added another town, called Whitehall, in honor of Whitehall, Wisconsin, the county seat of Trempealeau County. It is a mainly industrial city, but there are a lot of social hangouts there too...At MY Whitehall. Sports complex, parks, trails, everywhere. Whitehall is located at the place where the Union Pacific Field Sub turns East towards Sunset Flats. There is a coal power plant located here as well. Pictures coming tomorrow afternoon.
Back on the Ralston Routes again, but since the last time I posted...(April 10th, 2009, 05:28 PM), I have added a ton of stuff. The track is all in place up to the Sunset Flats Terminal, theres a waterfall, Junction City has been totally redone, and, there is another railroad! IC&E!
Here is a picture of the Eagle in front of the Barrier Falls.
