I get this call at around 4 in the morning from one of my friends who works for the D&RGW, we had been staying in Durango, but we got news today that both the 485 and the 480 would end up meeting just south of Durango, so we grabbed out camera gear, got into the Jeep, and headed out.

We caught the 480 just outside Durango heading south with a loaded pipe train.

We caught the 485 just coming through La Plata, not far from the Colorado/ New Mexico state line.

We paced the 485 till it pulled into a passing track just north of La Plata.

The empty train didn't spend much time in the hole before the 480 showed up with the southbound loaded pipe train.

Ah Ha! A hobo riding in one of the empty pipe gons snapped this shot!

The 480 heads on south toward La Plata, and ultimately Farmington.

The 480 makes a quick water stop just north of La Plata.

Our train coming through La Plata, which is just a few industrial buildings serving the oil industry in the area.

Its now time for us to head back to Durango, chasing trains is a lot of fun, but it sure does make one hungry, time for lunch........:cool::cool:

Fantastic shots of a lovely looking route. Excuse my ignorance, but is the route available for download, and if so, where? Couldn't find it on the DLS.

Regards,

Anthony

I hate to be a picker but shouldn't you tone down the "size" of the textures
a bit? I love the way its looking so far though :D

The way I'm using those textures is full scale, minimum radius, I find the textures come out looking much better, its time consuming to texture a layout alright, but thats what the copy and paste function is for..........:wave::wave:

Cool! I only got to watch the first couple minutes before I had to leave for work. But, it looks great! :)

Regards,
Todd
