Rail laying amateur

Ok I've been route building for a few years now but I must deal with a huge achilles heel. May as well deal with it once and for all. Ironically, it's laying track. Take a look below for a route I'm building (Venice):

I note the problem on the right side with all the intersecting track leading to the platforms. Does anyone have some tips on fixing this mess?

Was rail laying amateur

Download from the DLS, Yard Guide <kuid:141417:60079> (A template to enable the creation of orderly yards. See PDF for use.) and/or Yard guide short <kuid:70337:23024> (A guide for yard track at 4m track spacing. The insertion point is at the center and the main axis is aligned with the zero degree angle.
) . To finish off, use the rail straighten icon to correct any slight kinks.

Your yard ladders need more vertexes. You need to straighten a short length of track between each lever to smooth things out.

Diverging Vertex > Straight leg of turnout (not 'straightened') > short 'straightened' straight > Diverging Vertex > etc...

Ain't that confusing!

I had to fire TRS04 up for that - you could smell the dust burning LOL

Unfortunately I only have TRS2006, and it appears that you have TS12.

I found yard guides very confusing, and non-usable for custom routes.

It took me years to figure out how to lay perfectly straight tracks and yard ladders. Now it seems easy.

It is so hard to explain how to do it.

I use FT straight track as a guide.

Much too closely spaced turnout, too sharp & tight !
(Also, this track spacing is 4 meters apart, which makes an overlaping figure 8).
(When track spacing is 5 meters apart, the spline point circles do not overlap, as they just touch each other).

Much better, Spline Point Circles @ 15-20 meters apart

The Keyboard-Shift Key ... When you hold down on it you can stop track splines from clicking together like magnets.
When you relese the Keyboard-Shift Key tracks will join.

Alternating the Hold/Don't Hold-Shift Key will be a talent learned, that is indespensible to you.
