I'm working on a new layout and am using a lot of things that I downloaded from the DLS. When I go to upload it, will the creators automatically be credited?

If you mean, will they show as "kuids needed" to be d/loaded for your layout with their user names, yes.

No other credit is given to them unless you write something specific in your description of the route (limited space) or include a "read me" file with their credits when creating your CDP.

*Edit: Rereading your post, I think you mean if a contributor is credited with a d/load if someone else d/loads your layout with the corresponding kuid needed, yes, it will increase his/her download count of their creation.

I too am not exactly sure what you mean, but if you are referring to the list of creators shown on the DLS for a layout or any item when you view the details then Yes, the DLS will do this for you.

That's what I needed to know,seeseeme. Thanks. I wanted to make sure everyone got the credit for using any of their creations.
I haven't posted pics in a while, but I will soon. This will be my first route, but I want to do it right, with a lot of different industries, some longer haul routes and realistic sized trians (115 coal car trains, etc).

If you have merged some one elses layout with yours they will not get automatic credit. Be sure to credit them in your description. Heaping praise on them and thanks for the use of thier layout in the forum would also be nice.

I haven't done any kind of merging at this point. The praise part of it will happen when I go to upload my shots.

Those 2 topics have some pics of what to expect. My work is kind of slow going with my work schedule and how I'm building the layout. I don't add a new board until I have my current one finished and textured.
