I would think the 4GB card would work. They're not that expensive, and if it doesn't work, you could always sell it.

How can a camera have a capacity if the pictures are stored on the memory card..? Answer, don't worry about it unless it's that bad of a camera.

If you still have the instructions, it should be in their in the specs. If you haven't got the instructions, just contact Canon.

Believe it or not, they do have a maximum size for SD cards.

This is a 2006 model year camera so 4GB card "should" work. However, who cares...2GB is more than enough card for a compact digital. I have two Canon digitals and both have 2GB cards. I can go for several weeks of frequent shooting without having to download photos off the cards to clear space. I even shoot short videos with them.

Unless you are always at max resolution and shooting 800 plus photos per session, anything more than 2GB is overkill for a compact digital. Save your money for a real camera like a Nikon D300 or something.

To make it clear, as the above sounds like I said SD cars have a limit. What it should state is that some (if not most) cameras have a size limit for cards.
