Question about road crossing signals

Hello all, I was wondering if there is any way to turn down the volume only on the road crossing signals? I do not want to turn the bell right off, but I find with how loud they are the sound follows the train for a long time.

The only way to turn the volume down is to open the sound file IE .wave file in a sound editing program. Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ is one that is free and works good. But the sound following the engine thing is a bug in the sim. The same reason you can hear a crossing operating even if it's not close to where you're at.

I just waste 5 seconds turning down my volume then back up after I cross it

Other than what bnsf said, I do no know. Sorry.....
