Great News

Woo HOO! Sorry, I get excited when I see people creating modern QR stuff. Don't care if it takes a while, as long as it's good. With a range of items like this, I'll watch this thread for sure. I especially look forward to the ICE.

Dreaddman is doing a 1300 already. It's looking pretty good. Also, there's a Maxi-cab 2100 on the DLS and a few 1720's and a 3900 from UTC days I think. Don't know about any others. Maybe that'll save a bit of time for you.

Good luck! I wish I could create stuff (struggling with a hornsound though  ).

Hi,
I think you guys misread his post...

He wants to create these models, but replies like 'when are these being uploaded' and such arent going to help:o ... So I wouldn't get too hopeful!:)
I downloaded GMax and Blender, and to me they both look as difficult to use as each other!:hehe: Maybe a professional creator could give old mate here a few tips of the trade?:)
I can't help you EL3136. But I thought I would impart some forum wisdom, read before you post!;)
Yes, it is a big list! But if you really want something, you'll get it, one day...
Thanks,
Mitch
P.S. Hate to sound like your mother guys, but its just the truth!

Start small, a test house, then a wagon do not start with a loco. That list should take 3 or 4 years to do. Blender is better.

Use Blender. Gmax is unsupported by its creators, and Trainz now has many features models can use which are a right pain to do in Gmax. Blender is also frequently updated. Gmax was abandoned years ago. And it's also a huge pain to get objects out of Gmax and into a more modern 3D program.

Start here:

http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro

I highly recommend following all of the tutorials in that Wiki book before embarking on too many high detail Trainz things, such as locos or wagons.

Blender may seem daunting at first - especially with the crazy interface - but in my opinion it is superior to Gmax in every way, and after you get used to the keyboard shortcuts, you'll find creating models much quicker than in Gmax or 3DS Max
