putting images in forum posts

Alright so I've been tossing around the idea of starting a new thread for the reskins and things that i create, and I've not gotten the hang of putting screenshots of my work into the forums. How exactly do I do that? And what site works the best to do it with? I have to figure this out first before I start any new threads with images so other can see what my work looks like.

So if someone could help me to put the image website in the thread so the screenshot is visible i would definitely appreciate it.

1. Post the image to an image site e.g. hostthenpost.org.
2. Copy the "Forum Code" line and paste it into your post.
3. If that doesn't work, copy the URL to the image itself and add the
tags.
e.g.
http://www.hostthenpost.org/MYPICTURE.JPG[/img[/quote]

FYI, be sure your screenshots comply with the Code of Conduct.

Thanks. And where did you get such a neat signature, RRSignal? Until I read that i kinda never noticed the similarity between the two words.

Lol, I just thought of it one day. I tend to notice patterns in things. And I'm not even a golfer...well, not a good one anyway.

I don't play golf at all. I would much rather spend my time modeling in HO scale. Matter of fact I've been having some ideas for stuff in G scale that would be pretty new.

If you want the actual image to appear in your post (as opposed to a link to the image) use the "IMG code" link.

Best way is to try it out, before you submit your post to the Forum use the Forum "Preview" option - in "Go Advanced" to see what other will see.

Make sure you stick to the COC for image sizes. "Code of Conduct" button at the top of this page.

I've got the image ready for posting. Now I'm in the "go Advanced" style for replying. If my mind is working right it would be the insert image icon and use the image tags there, correct?

No. If you use the image icon you don't even need the tags, just paste the URL. All that icon does it place the img tags on either side of the URL. BTW, I don't see any pics yet in your freeware thread.

You don't see any? I just posted them a couple minutes ago. They showed up fine for me. I copied the photobucket image code directly into the post.

I have never known "Host then Post" images to expire, and have always wondered why people use that disclaimer.

LOL, I've always seen that disclaimer so I stayed away from them!! It is like the lake with the sign "Warning- Piranhas": There probably aren't any in there, but why take the chance. So now I get to wondering why the disclaimer???

From the site.
[h=3]Disclaimer[/h] Hostthenpost.org is a free image uploading website for all users with no fees or charges. Users are responsible for images that are uploaded and must follow within the rules and guidelines of the site. All uploads are subject to local, state and federal laws. Users caught uploading prohibited content will be subject to penalty of the law and banned from use of the site permanently. All images that have not been accessed within 30 days will automatically be deleted.

Just for the record, I have seen as many if not more Photobucket and Imageshack images expire than HTP, hence my recommendation. ANY of these services reserve the right to manage their traffic and bandwidth. Most file-sharing sites as well. If it's not upfront in the disclaimer, it's buried deep in the Terms of Service. Personally, I actually find Flickr to be the best for long-term storage of images, but I think you have to have a Yahoo account to use it.
