Putting ballast down makes track dissappear in places??

I don't use any TS2019 track because I don't like trackwork that looks like it was extruded by a huge toffee machine. After transfering a favourite legacy route to TS2019 a while ago I changed its trackwork over to one of the TS2019 tracks and then promptly changed it back to the original track because it looked so awful.

I did the same for the same reason plus the tie spacing and rail weight isn't prototypical for mainlines my area. It suits the purpose for minor branch lines and older track, but not current 136 lb. track used on mainlines today.
