I'm not even posting links, just copy the words
Protests over BART shooting turn violent
into any search engine and see the majillion links that show up thanks to all the on-the-spot cell-phone-camera-carrying individuals that have really bad audio so you cannot tell what is happening but we're all supposed to guess anyway.
News stories make it look as if BART police are about to rampage through neighborhoods with weapons drawn before an investigation is done.
And this only weeks after the Greece protests. This deserves a double :o :o.

Yea it's sad this has to happen. But where's all of the protests and out cry's when one of these kids own members shoot's and kills some one in cold blood, which happens not once in a blue moon, but hundreds of time's each year in Oakland. You never hear a peep out of them then.
This policeman will be brought to justice, guilty or innocent, but we all know that the judicial system doesn't work magically overnight. If these kids in the street would have stayed in school and studied they would know this, and not be out destroying innocent peoples property.

I was born and raised in Oakland, in a tough neighborhood at 45th and Market. But it was never a shooting gallery. That only started in the mid-sixties. I don't know exactly why. It doesn't make much sense. When Gerry Brown tried to create a quality school as an example of what could be done, he managed it, kudos to him, but he had to move Heaven and Earth to do it when he was mayor. It is like an entire society that is captive to gangs and thugs and venal politicians, and impervious to education in preparation for life in a peaceful and productive society. I mourne for my home town.
