Problems with new TS2010

sawyer811

MKT Forever and always
okay, just got TS2010 for christmas (:D) but, as is usually the case in the land of Sawyer811's trainz, things are going screwy. There are a couple of problems:

1) the screen will change size and resolution for no reason, usually going smaller, leaving a large black space around the bottom and right side of the image. to reset, i am forced to hit control+alt+delete, but even then, there are no garuntees. sometimes it will blow the screen up so large that the icons and driver console are not there and unusable.

2) this screen resolution change (i'm assuming that's what it is) usually leads to me being "locked out" of the tabs and buttons in driver, so much so that, on the Avery-Drexel route, i can't close the opening pages and/or exit the session.

3) When i go into surveyor (even though that name is not used any more in the game...another thing that bothers me) i can't locate the Milwaukee content used for the Avery-Drexel route, and yet it clearly shows up in game, in the built-in sessions.

4) Also, the usual "built in" routes from games past (tidewater point, Highland Valley, etc.) are not there. I don't know if that is by design, but i have seen videos in TS2010 of these routes.

I know i'm a veteran of all of an hour of playing TS2010 (if that) but this is confusing me. I've used TRS2006 and TS2009 with no problems before. Is a great deal of these issues having to do with my computer and its specs? I know TS2009 gave me some trouble but i replaced the video card and soon it was smooth sailing. Does anybody know what's going on?

1. Changing resolution and such is sometimes caused by not having your Trainz resolution the same as your desktop resolution. It can also be caused by an out-of-date video driver.

2. You should be able to exit any screen or session by hitting the Escape key. You'll get a "Are you sure?" dialog box and then you can click 'Yes".

3. The name 'Surveyor' is still very much used. To make sure you see ALL of the routes, click the yellow star at the top. This is a 'toggle' that will alternately show/hide all the items that aren't your "favorites".

4. Tied in with #3 above.

You might mention what your computer specs are if any additional help is needed.

I thinks that's one for a Helpdesk ticket. Was it new?

Has it already been registered by whoever gave it to you?
If it's second hand it cannot be registered as yours, it can only have one registered user.

or has the giver just forgotten to give you the manual? If so and it is not previously registered then you may be ok once you have the registration code.

Just to add, the announcement actually says limited helpdesk available.

Need to check with whoever gave it to you first though, as to where they got it from.

He'll have 2 hope's that N3V will reply to his ticket and ones called Bob.

I posted a ticket 3 months ago about my CMP not working correctly. Guess what they still haven't replied to me offering me a solution.
