Problems installing

Hi

I've just got Ultimate Trainz and have problems installing it. It all goes fine, but when I run the programme, I get told my CD key is invalid or my installation is damaged.

It appears I have no consists. I'm advised to go to content manager and veiw an error log. Here;s the firs few lines (its very long but every error is effectively the same)

While loading game data

Asset 'trains 60ft_boxcar' has unknown or missing 'kind'

Asset 'trains 6e1_bb_red' has unknown or missing 'kind'

I've reinstalled twice, I've updated to version 404 (was on CD2) and registered my Serial ID with Auran, so I don;t think my key is the problem. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Very keen to get this working as I'm fed up with how lenghty it is to do even basic junctions in MSTS.

Hi FK welcome to trainz
Ive never had UTC so not sure i can help on that problem. where did you get it from as there are different versions for differing countries. TRS2004 may have been a better version to buy as it can do a lot more. building routes is so simply with trainz and is completely different to MSTS. A lot of users still have UTC and im sure someone will be able to help. Good luck and dont give up on trainz you wont regret having it.

I bought it in the UK. It was dirt cheap and I couldn't find 2004. I'll get 2006 eventually, but I've bought HVR2, MSTS and 3d Canvas Pro recently to build train 'sets' by train addicted four year old son can use/watch and I didn't really want for fork out nearly £40 if I/he didn't get on with it.

Hi, I`ve got UTC and it ran fine straight out of the box.
Bought mine from Morrisons supermarket for £5.99, did you buy yours from a shop & was it new & sealed ?

I got it from Staples, fully sealed. Auran says you can only register the CD ket once, so I'm certain its valid and not been used before.

Have you downloaded "Trainzobjects ?
If not, do so. It may help to find the missing "kinds".

Other than that, try deleting & re-installing, make sure no other programs are running.

Third time lucky

Well blow me - I uninstalled it (again), deleted anything that was left behind, reinstalled (third time) and for no obvious reason it now works!

You can google for it, or type http://www.trainzobjectz.co.uk into your browser.

Just looked at it, don`t think it will help your problem, but you will need it to solve problems with anything you down load for the game from "Download Station"
I think your best bet is to uninstall & reinstall the game.
Your registration will remain valid if you do this.
