Problems downloading Olegkhim Content Updates - read here first

Moderators - this is a re-post from the DLS,FCT forum, as some people haven't bothered to read the version there.

Hi Trainzers,

I've noticed some people having problems downloading Content Updates of OlegKhim assets using the in-game feature.

This is due to a bug affecting these specific assets, and the only way of downloading these is to either manually download them from the web-based DLS, or use Content Manager.

The affected assets are:

That's interesting. I was able to download the affected updates using Content Manager.

Have you tried a database repair?

I have got all the updates on the list and never noticed any problems, as Shane says, probably need a EDR.

Generally speaking to N3V -- On a side note --- I just wonder why did the DLS system allowed these assets to go through when they had issues!?

My thoughts as well. It's a bit odd that the assets mentioned seem to download OK with Content Manager, but not through the in-game Content Updates system.

Could probably do with a Shanes corner sum where here on the Forum, There's only so many thread's/Sections i follow or have an interest in so to me i would at least know one spot here i could go to and catch up on new's that may of slipped thru to sum where else. Just my opinion. Keep up the great work Shane.

I ran an extended data base repair yesterday prior to downloading a bunch of updates, these included. I ran a database repair again, and same result. Now I just copied one Kuid number from each of the updates in the CMP that would not download when selected for download, and pasted them one at a time into the DLS, and that was the only way they would download. Something was major screwed up.

There is one kuid that I cannot download no matter what I do. <kuid:334896:26036> When I put that number in the DLS, it comes up with a red circle with a line though it.

Built in downloader in game, not CM. I did however have problems with some of narrowgauge's DHR updates which were red and had to be downloaded via CM.

Try kuid2:334896:26036:1 which is what I have here, presumably arrived as an update.
 
Hmm odd that, I've had it since the 27th November, something gone wrong since then by the looks of it, I don't even appear to be using it as its not got any dependant assets so I'll try deleting it in my second TS12 install and try downloading it again.

Downloaded perfectly I'm afraid. Mind you I had one of mcguirel's speed tree updates stuck for months and then it suddenly downloaded a week or two ago, no one else seemed to be having a problem with it at the time so I was basically just ignoring it.

What happens if you try and download it now?
 
All my assets are optimized and updated. Perhaps you are experiencing problems due to the fact that the amount of assets is large and you do not have a first-class ticket to boot.

Part of the assets is confirmed, and some (including affiliates) expect them to confirm until a week or more.
