Problem with replacing old textures with new PBR ones

I am upgrading one of my old T:ANE routes to TRS2019 standards. As part of this I am doing a bulk replacement of my old textures with the new PBR ones which look pretty good. Doing this has caused a problem with my in-place roads wherever the new PBR texture happens to be underneath them. There was no problem with the roads when the old non-PBR textures were in use.

I have uploaded three screenshots to show you the issue. Here are the links:

I want to uses these new PBR textures but having to adjust all the roads is going to be a real headache. Am I doing something wrong here?

Nope not doing anything wrong.

This is what they do. You need to fuss with the textures and fuss with the roads once you "upgrade" to them.

To the OP:
Nope, you aren't doing anything wrong really:)
That's what happens when you mix both the 3D (PBR) and 2D (regular) textures together with splines objects in the way. Once you have the 2D textures replaced with the 3D, it'll go back to what it was before

I found a way to fix this, albeit in a tedious manner, without having to adjust the height of the road splines. What you have to do is take any of the old 2D textures and paint over the road splines with it. Not a great solution but it does work.

Hmm, I wonder if that will help doing it to painting ballast back on the tracks? I hate seeing a lot of grass on my tracks.
