Problem Downloading TS2010: TS2010_Installed.exe not found

I just purchased the download version of TS2010 and got an email from Auran telling me how to download the SW.

When I try, I get the following message: TS2010_Installer.exe: no such file for directory.

Has anyone else received this error or message and - if so - what did you do to get around it?

Thanks,

Wes

Not supposed to be released until tomorrow now. New date says the 17th. Of course the 16th is almost over in Australia.

auran promised 2010 on the 16th of november ,you mean to tell me that you people didnt bother to check to see how 2010 would run ,maybe that shows how good the product really is ? after all first impression is really what makes or brakes you isnt it ,,,so i waited for the 16th to roll around hopping to download 2010 as i had paid for it believing it would be ready on the 16th ,
shatterd i was to find an email basicly stating that someone hasent bothered to test the game, someone has misled a lot of people.
auran remind me a little like the public transport always runing late or broken down ,after a while you get sick of the stuff ups and catch a bus or take your own car!!!!!!!! there is need for concern here if i owned auran

The reason for the delay; - http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=48201
They have decided to fix a known problem before they launch TS2010. Which would you prefer? Auran fix the problem, which will delay the launch. Or would you prefer them to launch the product with the known issue & hope they will fix it sometime "down the track" :hehe:
I know what I (& probably 99% of the community) would prefer. Them getting it right first time...
Cheers, Mac...

Here, here, I agree with meatloaf, better to be released error free, than have bugs to fix and moan about...

By the way, liked the punn about down the track, I bet you've been waiting for an opportunity to put that in for ages...:hehe:

2010 late

yes i agree ,but it still dosent change the fact that it should have been totaly looked over before stating a date to the general public and accepting money, they knew it was a big software package to start with so lets not make excuses ,it is understood a lot of work goes into these things ,as a lot of money is paid out by the public to purchase the games and to believe that they are right to go.

i give constructive criticism while you give sarcasm, criticism if constructive should always be welcomed, however sarcasm is always destructive and needs to stay in the mouth from which it flows from
,have a nice day

Hi Steve123

As per the announcement, the testing of TS2010 has revealed some memory issues on 32 bit machines, and as such we decided to delay the release till the 23rd, rather than release the program with this issue and then have to supply a patch.

Also, as per the announcement, the team has worked all weekend to attempt to resolve this problem, however we still require more time to adequately implement and test the fixes and thus will continue working solely on fixing this issue over the coming week. This issue was discovered by the testing team prior to us having to make this announcement, and as we were not able to resolve it prior to the original ETA for the release, we had to make the decision to delay the release, rather than release the software as-is and then have to produce, test and then release a patch, of which would likely take longer than the current release ETA.

We will send out notifications when the download is released, and you can also check your order history for the current ETA for the release.

Thank you for your patience.

auran stated the 16th november to download it ,,i didnt auran did fact truth.
there is the truth you claim i cant see grass hopper

yes i am ,i wanted to play my game 2010

Steve123,
Just be a little patient and let Auran sort this issue out. As for Auran should have beta tested all routes/sessions in TS2010 under all conditions, using all sorts of hardware configurations & OS's options... Well, no gaming company has the in-house resources to do that. Not to test under every possible scenario.
If you have ever been a beta tester you will understand this.

Here's just a simple example.

Beta tester (1) "Bob" is asked to test a session in the large, long, detailed route called "Longshot" in TS2010. He's running a PC with a 64bit processor & a 64 bit OS. *8gigs of RAM... - The session runs flawlessly for hours & hours without the slightest problem. - 5, 10, 15 hours later, it's still running flawlessly.
His final prognostics; Route & session runs perfect... (had it running for 15 hours without a problem).

Beta tester (2) "Mandy" is asked to test the exact same route & session. Now her PC's only has a 32bit processor & 32bit OS. *4gigs of RAM.
Now she start to run the session and everythings going perfect. One hour goes by, everythings fine. Two hours go by and the sessions still running perfectly. Then 10 minutes later Trainz crashes.
Her prognostics; Exact same route ran perfect for 2 hours 10 minutes, then crashed.

That's what the current delay is all about. Please, just show alittle patients and they will sort it. Thanks.

The last I heard from a fly on the wall at Auran's Brisbane office, was that they had put "all hands on deck" working on the issue, including the tea lady and the janitor...
Tony's stopped all leave, told everyone that they are not to get sick, and has got them sleeping under their desks in sleeping bags after putting in a 18 hour working day. **************** Now that's what I call real dedication. ********************
He hasn't put them on bread & water yet, but if it's not sorted out in the next few weeks, he may consider this option. - better than bringing out the whip or the old DCM... :hehe:
And all this just to keep you & I happy...
TS2010 has turned into the final straight and there's only a couple of furlongs to go. - Pleased to read that you have already brought the winning ticket...

Cheers, Mac... :D

That's great Steve.

Tony (& staff) want this to be the best version of Trainz ever. (as does the whole community). If they do there absolute best to get it right before its launched, then that will mean that there will be less problems that will come back to bite them in the _rse down the track.
The more bug free 010 is, the less time (& staff) that will be required to work on patches/SP's. The sooner Auran can start channelling 90% of there resources into there next big project TS "X" the sooner we will see it & the better it will be... - "Tally ho, onwards and upwards" as Godfey recently said !!!!
Cheers, Mac...
