Possible Edinburgh tramway extension?

I see that Edinburgh Council is now looking into a 3 mile extension to the recently built tramway. Something loke £140 million or so from memory. Seems they want to use some of what they get from the bus system profits as part of the sum and borrow the rest. Must be the only Council up here in the north of the kingdom still with a Local Authority service? The extension was in fact part of the original plan but "Auld Reekie" mad such a hash of it and soared well over the cost after a long legal fight with the German builders. When one thinks how the modern systems down south all went ahead without this it makes you wonder. Anyway apart from the extra dosh as a tram as well as train fane we will see!
