Positioning Trains on Downloaded Routes

I've downloaded some of the magnificent routes that others have laboured long and hard to create. I know how to go into the route using Surveyor in TRS2006, and place a train and then save that session and take the train for a "chug" along the track.

But how do I commence my session/scenario from a different position on the route?

I've tried going into another of the preset bookmarks in Surveyor, placed a train on the track, and saved as a new session. But, when it puts me into driver mode it always starts me in the "default" location. As an example, on Montana Rail Link, it always starts me at Helena Station, even if I've gone into one of the other bookmarks, placed a train, and saved as a new session.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

It's not enough to place a NEW consist, you also have to delete the original consist, if you want the session to open at the location of the new consist.

Or move the consist to where you want it. But then again, it would take ages, so why bother? Here's an idea: how many consists do you have on your route? Do they each have a driver assigned? If so, when first loading the session, click on the picture of the person in the lower left corner, and pick the driver that is assigned to the train you want.

Hi
If you have a session with a lot of drivers the session will always open at the first driver alphabetically listed.

Or--- you can go into MAP VIEW, click along the map until you come to the consist you want to drive---zoom down and click on the train, then go out of Map View and you'll be there.

Or ............... in TRS2004 and TC3, so cannot see why not in TRS2006 ..... you can go into Select Objects and just click on the locomotive that you want to drive.

Thanks all. Euphod and davesnow's replies were probably closest to what I want. Removing other consists has worked and I found that by right clicking anywhere on the map in surveyor mode I automatically go there - like magic!

...&...

 You can use the "Find Object" Surveyor Tools...enter the username of the object & double click the presented name & bang-a botta-boom!

Changing consist focus in survayor

When you add a consist the new driver will always be listed last under the Driver Setup Rule. If the new consist is what you want to see upon openning the session in Driver, you will have to reassign the first driver to this consist.
