Portals in TR2009

I can place and configure portals in tr2009 but in driver they do not work or even seem to be present. Any suggestions?

I've used "Portal", "Portal Basic" and "Portal Basic Short" in TS2009 and they all work as in TRS2006 and TC3. Can you give us some specifics as to which you're using, and how you're configuring it?

I have tried all three. They seem to work in surveyor. I can bring them up with the ? and set them to produce trains. Then in driver the track is there but they do not produce trains and I can not bring them up with the control right click and view details. The layout was brought over from TR2006. Do you think I need to delete them and start over?

Just off the top of my head, I'd guess the problem might be that the train cars you're selecting to appear, might not be compatible with TS2009. I've had problems where I just randomly selected a certain loco and it wouldn't appear, and that was the problem. The only way to be sure is, in Surveyor, open the train placement tab, and select something and actually place in on the track. If that works, then try coding the same loco to appear in the portal.

The portals I can assure you, DO work. I have several routes that use portals thaat I brought over from TRS2006, notably Summer Lake Valley, and Port Ogden and Northern 1a, plus a route of my own that I'm tinkering with and I have had no problems getting trains to appear, as long as '09 can recognise them.

I am using trains that I have also put on the layout. The Iportals work just not the basic portal. Not only do they not work in driver mode, I can not view details. Every thin seems ok in surveyor mode. I also have the same problem with some platforms I use for stations. This 2009 seems to be more of a problem than it is worth at the present time.

I have been using 2009 since it was released. I have been using both portals, Portal(tunnel version) and Portal Basic, without a problem on 6 or 7 routes. Last evening while I had one of the routes running in a window, I installed another program that also installed .NET Framework 3.5. I then noticed that the Portal Basics no longer worked. It was like they no longer exsisted. The normal portal, tunnel version, still worked.

I use "Portal Timetable Rule" to control trains entering from the portals. I have tried using Portal Basic Short that I had downloaded. The Portal Basic Short would produce a rogue train, you couldn't control it, you couldn't click on it and it would not follow the commands that were issued to it. I switched all of the "Portal Basic"s to "Portal Basic HP"s and now everything works as it should.

Do the other people, having the same issues, have .NET Framework 3.5 installed?
