Platinum With Open Beta

Can Platinum and Plus Beta exist and run on the same PC? Or are there settings and values that each would use that must be exclusive to one or the other packages?

Can I run routes with Platinum from the same database (in my PC) I will be using with Plus Beta ? Not meaningful since Open Beta is only a membership.

I saw in a post to me on another subject that the Open Beta offering is just a membership. If so, then is there an impact on my Silver membership?

Yes, any and all versions of Trainz can run on the same PC BUT must be separate installs and have their own separate User Data Folders.

Platinum and Plus (when Plus was first released) had the same build numbers so it possibly could have been possible (but I doubt it). Now Plus has a different build number so I would be even more doubtful. The safest and most logical answer would be no!

Silver membership requires that you already have installed a fully purchased (not leased) copy of TRS19. Plus is a leased copy of TRS19 and the two would be quite separate - separate installs, separate User Data folders. I would say, without being in any way an expert on the matter (I don't have silver or gold membership, or Plus) that the two could happily co-exist. You are the only one who could make a value judgement on whether it is worth maintaining two subscriptions.

Once you've upgraded to Plus, your Platinum will be Plus because those features are unlocked. Plus is backwardly compatible data-wise with TRS19. The only difference is the interface.

From that I could guess then, the code for Plus is already in Platinum and only needs the "secret key" to turn it on. I remember the anger when customers of IBM discovered that their computers (main frames) were already capable of faster processing. All you had to do was put in a new, higher frequency, crystal oscillator for a few thousand $$.

Looks like this weekend caught N3V in a state of change so Tomorrow may bring some clarity.

I have TRS19 Base, TRS19 Gold, TRS19 Plus beta and the beta MPS version installed. Sometimes I have three systems running. How I wish I could colour code the variations. The Plus beta is basically a dead installation until the next quarterly edition beta comes along.

There is also TMR17, TANE, and TS12 as well. You just need lots of hard/SSD disk space.

I have 2 Trainz New Era and 3 TRS19's installed on my laptop. I have run any 2 of them at one time with no problem. I have a second monitor hooked up through the HDI port.
