Picture of a huge steam locomotive.

Hi, all.

I have had this photo saved away on my computer for years, then I saw some stuff about custom steam locomotives in Trainz. I thought I'd upload the photo and see if any of you guys know if this steam locomotive exists for Trainz.

Here we go!

I'd love to have this 4-8-8-8-4 beast in Trainz. Anyone know if there's a model of it anywhere?

Doesn't exit in real life; I think TrainzItalia made a model of it, however.

Offhand, I would say it looks like a Triplex, but the drive wheel arrangement looks wrong. Since we can't see the tender part clearly, it could of one of the Quadraplex models shown on THIS page.

No Triplexes survived long enough to have a colored picture of them taken, this looks like a photoshopped Big Boy..

Nope, your right. It's ficticious. Bigboy.

Hmm... I looked the TrainzItalia one up, and registered for it. I then tried to buy a subscription to download it for $10, but for some reason the Paypal page was all in Italian, and when I tried using Babelfish to translate it, whenever I tried to submit my paypal info for them to bill me, it doesn't go through. I keep getting returned back to my paypal screen, even though my paypal account worked just fine a couple days ago paying other stuff.

Any advice?

I managed to pay for it and download it. When I tested it in TRS 2006, I noticed something a bit odd about it. The majority of it looks just awesome, but the front end's a little messed up.

Notice the front pistons are missing, along with a few polygons to cover the front area. I have the "Train Polygon Count" option on maximum. How come the front stuff is missing?

You know what I just realized. that edit was made of a photo of 4005. Picture was taken quite a few years back when 4005 was sitting outside along I-25 here in Denver. When the old Forney museum closed down to move to a new location, all their railroad equipment was moved and stored on a siding next to I-25. she sat there for about a year or two, until the new building opened. I heard they had a hell of a time getting her to move again, she kept derailing on their temporary track they laid. They are now indoors at the new Forney museum, which is over by the National Western complex where they hold the stock show, as well as the Great Train Expo

I slightly recognized the background buildings, as well as the number boards which have not been edited out. The tower in the background is the observation tower at Elitch Gardens, which was owned by Six Flags at that time.

Hi Veristek, I think the problem may lie in your Trainz or video card settings. This is the first time sometimes such a problem is reported and, moreover, several of us at Trainzitalia - including myself - tested the Huge Boy extensively before releasing it. I made some hundred miles while I was tuning the engine file and I never experienced something like the problem shown in your image.

Let us know if the problem disappears after fiddling with your video settings.

Cheers
