I just got the December issue of Model Railroader and I was flipping thru the pages and came across an interesting picture found in Trackside Photos on page 91. It looks like a steeple-cab switcher, but equipped with tires instead of wheels and has no pantograph. It was built in 1912 by the Pennsylvania Railroad's Altoona shops and was originally powered by batteries but later converted to a gas-electric locomotive. I highly doubt that there are any pictures of it available online, or will be easy to find. I think that this may be an interesting little asset for Trainz, but it would require a lot of invisible track to recreate it being used and not needing tracks to move.
EDIT:
Here's the only picture I've found of one: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=172022&nseq=0
