Found on a NYC Yahoo Group.
PC Transportation Company made filings on 8/19/2009.

They all appear centered around payouts to 32 former PC employees, total of these was half a million US dollars but some judge upped it by roughly $12 million more, if I read these right.
 
Yup, they are still around, although they changed the name of the holding company a few years ago. They ultimately paid off all the creditors from the sale of assets left to them by Conrail. They are a real estate investment company now.
 
Mating Worms-PC

You still see billboards with an owners tag saying Penn Central. I suppose all the abandoned overgrown right of way trackbeds of various RR's are still not state, county, or local property, and are still owned by someone with the holdings (or PC) and are under a 999 year lease.
