Patching from 43434 to 44088

I applied the hot patch to take my 2010 trainz from 43434 to 44088 and it seemed to go ok but when I start trainz the build still say 43434.

Did I do something wrong?

Try again ! I've just applied the patch 44088 and build is OK for me ... Did you download the good build ?

Sorry to hijack the thread a little here, but I'm disappointed to see that my Build #43361 is left out of the latest set of patches again. It was left out of the patch to 43434, as well.

I purchased the downloadable version from Amazon, who advertises the game as coming from N3V. Does Auran plan to support build 43361 at all?

You are a little stuck there. After reading another thread on the forum the version you have is actually the 'Steam' version of the game, which does not have any updates available (according to various sources) - this is one of the major issues of buying downloadable versions from anywhere other than Auran/N3V Games direct.

Did you get the message patching complete, takes 1-1.5 hours roughly.

Thanks for the information it was a help for me.

I couldn't reinstall the patch I downloaded but thanks to your suggestion I redownlaoded the patch and it istalled in about 1/2 hour.

Thanks Shane...that's what I was afraid of. I purchased the game through Amazon, partially because I thought they were a reputable seller, and partially because they list N3V as the source for the game. I'm mostly annoyed because I was aware of the "Steam" update issue from reading the forums before purchase, and I thought I was avoiding the problem. Looks like I'll have to squawk at Amazon and see if I can get some kind of refund. Bought the game at the end of August, so I might be SOL.

Good point, I had forgotten about that. But I took another look at the Amazon site just to be sure, and it does claim the the software is "by N3V" and sold by "Amazon Digital Services, Inc".

Guys, If this was a Steam version it would only run with the steam client installed and running, I get the impression that this is not so? Valve could well using the same version number as someone else's retail version and just wrapping it up in their junk?

Took a hole 4 minutes to install for me,and runs fine after that,
no time at all.

When I patched, EVERYTHING with chameleon scripting now has NO scripting at all, not even things like priority. Also, when I go into driver, I se invisible trainz with smoke FX. Too late for anything now, I already unintaled trainz via the uninstaller. But, how do I reinstall?
