Patch installer folders - can I delete them?

On my drive devoted to Trainz, I seem to be accumulating Patch Installer folders. After a patch has successfully installed, can I safely delete those folders?

Perhaps N3V will take note of this post..

However, you may consider keeping one set of each version as you never know what may happen.

I'm a Gold/Plus member and when my 100240 edition updated my TRS19 install patched to 105096 PLUS version. (UDS - Surprise!) I went to my digital downloads and the only thing available to download was PLUS version. I wanted to keep a non-UDS version for testing purposes and luckily I still had a 100240 full install package in my web browser download folder. I installed a fresh 100240 then moved the download package to a safe place. :)

I had even paid outright for TRS19 Early Release so I felt entitled to a 105096 NON plus edition along with my new Plus edition (Gold membership). But I was told by N3V support that since your 'version' (features) are tied to your account, a user cannot have two versions available for download.

I generally want to be positive and help support development of Trainz but having paid outright for a version I now cannot get (105096 without Plus features) doesn't seem proper to me. Not doubt all the "fine print" will prove me wrong but this seems like a good way to prevent customers from buying things.

I was also caught out by this although I had already updated my 100240 installation. I have a particular reason to hang onto an SP1 version that doesn't attract downloads due to my gold membership.

So now I have a 105096 installation and a 105100 installation. I'm not entirely sure what that means but the 105096 version doesn't have the Content Store and it still has the download DLC dialog box when you start Trainz.

It's all getting rather confusing.

105096 is the standard SP1 (non gold members) and 105100 SP1 plus (gold members).

The peculiarity occurs if you update the Standard and also have a plus account, I have both, then you get 105096 with some but not all plus features, I now have 105096 with some Plus Features and 105100 full Plus features which defeated the object of keeping a Standard edition free from plus. I can live with that now after being somewhat initially confused. However there could be some on 105096 with Plus Accounts that are missing out on the full plus features, that's if they want them of course!

That's not what happened with my installs. I've tracked almost all 19-beta, plus, and plus beta version over past year.

My 100240 updated to 105096 plus (I am a Gold/Plus member).
My 104096 (100240 beta stream) updated to 105096
My 104885 Plus beta stream updated to 105100

I actually had a 4th install "Plus stable" which now is void I guess since my 19 install automatically goes to Plus.

I don’t have any of that crap, so I can/will simply delete the patch installer folders. Hate it when programs are not polite enough to clean up after themselves.

You can safely delete them for any version of TRS19 or TANE.

Leaving stuff behind seems to be an annoying and common problem with programs these days.

-snip- your gold membership does allow you access to DLC content for both versions.
105096 and 105100 are public release builds.

Yes, and both feature UDS for me because I am gold/plus. N3V should have at least found a way to let Plus members know that 100240 patch would flip you to Plus UDS version and there was no way "back" to a non UDS feature set. (Other than a 100240 install package in my downloads folder.)
