Panning and zooming in Driver

Is there any way to slow down the panning and zooming in Driver? I'm making some videos, and the movement is much too fast.
Thanks,
Mick Berg.

Oddly enough, holding down the SHIFT key speeds up movement in most games, but Trainz did it backwards - hold down the SHIFT key and it slows down camera movements.

Drive like you work ... SLOW

Film your trainz by viewing them from the cab of another train, or a from the cab of JetSled on aerail flyways (add the line -freeintcam in Trainzoptions file).

I'm talking about Chase View, using the arrow keys to move left and right and up and down, and the Page Up and Page Dn. In my case Shift makes no difference.:(

Which view are you talking about?

Thanks,

Well if you've got the patience to do that, good for you! Sorry to say I haven't.............:hehe:
No problem with the speed of the trainz, its the speed with which the camera moves that is too fast.

Thanks,
Mick.

That's what I'm talking about, either 1 cab or 2 chase views, arrow keys move it fast, holding down the SHIFT key with one finger while moving the mouse makes it slower. I'm in the process of making and uploading a video at the moment, when I'm done I'll try 2010 and 12, see if it makes a difference which SHIFT key. Are you on a desktop or laptop?

Drive the train at twice the speed you want in your shot, pan the view and record it in FRAPS at 48 FPS, then time stretch the shot in a video editing programme to twice its length, which will effectively half your speed in the footage and give you a 24 FPS rate with a pan at half the speed it normally is. Modify these numbers for different pan rates. This is the kind of stuff they do in Hollywood, although usually the other way around to get very fast pan rates that are controlled.

Desktop with mini-keyboard. But the shift key works OK for everything else.

Mick.

Hmmm, just now tried it, works in the #4 view but not the #1 cab or #2 chase. Only thing I can suggest is move the camera view with the right mouse button held down - go to Start, Control Panel, Mouse, select the Pointer Options tab and set the pointer speed lower before you start recording.

I'll try that. But obviously I don't want the mouse pointer visible on the screen!
I'll also put a request in Suggestion Boxcar to have the Shift function apply to Cab and Chase Chase Views.

Thanks,
Mick.

Well, if you're using Fraps, click the Movies tab and check the box for No cursor.

That keeps the pointer from being recorded.
