1) is there any other programs for painting trains other than paint shed

2) can you put trains you download off the dls into paint shed or another program to change them

3) i am after CFCLA and SSR locos particually el and t classes i have checked the dls but no luck

Paint Shed is OK but limited. I use a free program called dxtbmp which is free off the web. Flight Simmers use it to repaint aircraft (in fact, that's how I got into it) but you can also use it to paint trains. Here's how I do it:

1) Find the loco KUID using Content Manager.

2) Open the KUID file in dxtbmp.

3) Send it to your paint program.

4) Paint the train and save your work.

5) Reload it back into dxtbmp and click Save.

Job done. Just make sure you copy and save the file it its original state before you start work on it, so you can drop it back into place if things don't pan out. The file you will want to open in dxtbmp usually has a .tga on the end. Files with .im on the end don't always open.

Best wishes,
Padster
