I dont have a cabview for my p-42 amtrak, how do I go about putting in a cab like a dash 9 or some other one, I just want a cabview for it.....thank you......................................Louis

you really can't unless you have the original mesh, which is why our release of ours didn't (trust me there would have been one otherwise).

the originals had an attachment for the cab, even if it wasnt accurate it is definetly better than nothing

I've always just found a cab that I liked, opened Trainzobjects, opened the config.txt of the loco with the cab that I wanted to use, and then copied the line:

interior 12345:67890

(example, of course)

and then opened the config.txt of the loco that I wanted to receive the new cab, deleted the old "interior" line, and pasted the new one in.

Seems to work for me.

One thing you must remember is to "Delete dispatcher.cmp files"

It's one of the options in the Menu popup at the bottom of Trainzobjects.

When you restart Trainz, it will rebuild the new cab into the loco.

Hope that helps a bit.

cant you just add the attachment point on the cab itself in a spot where it would be in the correct stot?

I heard that AGZ was making their own cab last i heard, so is it not possible to adjust the attachment point on the cab itself so it at the proper height

OK, I gotta mention this.

Why would you need the original cab?

While I am nowhere near doing a cab view, I looked at one on the TRS2004 Content Creation CD for the GP/SD models. No need for the external mesh, it appeared to use something called a camera placed in the model. From what I saw, if you fiddled with it depending on how much time and work you could put in, it would be a new cab.

So if this cab needs no external mesh, then why do the others?

And the latest versions even have a cab specified. Anyone running any without a cab simply needs to keep updated with what's on the download station.
