Own stations

Hey Im in need of a couple of station designs that i havnt found on any sites so far, tho one is pretty unique.

first of all is a 5 platform terminius with one through platform and triple lines runiing in to the terminal lines so trains can "run around"

|||||PLatform 1|||||||||
====Line 1=========||
====Line 2=========||
====Line 3=========||
|||||Platform 2||||||||||
|||||Platform 3||||||||||
====Line 4=========||
====Line 5=========||
====Line 6=========||
|||||Platform 4||||||||||
|||||Platform 5||||||||||
====Line 7============

Hope the image helps!
Secondly Im looking for a station that has two through platforms but four lines, so a local service can stop whilst a HST can pass through unhindered

||||Platform 1|||
==Local Line====
==HST Line=====
==HST Line=====
==Local Line====
||||Platform 2|||

As I cant seem to access the DLS my options are limited so if any one knows where I can find anything like this or how to make my own stations using TRS 2006?

Cheers
Dan!

Make your own using platform splines and AJS stations, or trackmarks

Then add accessories
Seats
Lights
Little Convenience Shops, drinks, snacks etc.
Escalators or stairs
etc.

It's longer than slapping a default station but it's more freedom in it

Or if you're lazy, get a single station, put it down, put 1 track inbetween, then get a double station, put a single track inbetween another double station

Scratchbuilt stations

I agree with JJDella - for your more complex city centre stations, build them from scratch. This is not meant to disparage those who have built large stations and put them on the DLS, but no one is going to have a better vision of what you want than you. Place one or more invisible stations, then add platforms, platform roofs, and all the other bits and pieces you can find on the DLS. Place passenger cars temporarily to see how the doors line up with the platforms, adjust the platforms splines height as needed, then adjust the passenger height of the invisible stations so the passengers feet are exactly right. I believe that the big city central station is the centerpiece of your route and it should and can be exactly what you want.

thanx guys, how do I link the invisible platforms together tho so it comes up as one station?

actually better idea is there a tutorial for this somewhere?

If you are looking for ideas on station layouts you could use Google Earth. If you look for large towns with a railway station you can get the layout of the station and how the tracks into the station are laid out, it gives you an idea on how the tracks converge. If the station has an overal canopy you won't see the trak inside the station like places like York. But mainline stations like Leamington spar, or Doncaster would give you an idea.

Multiple invisible stations

I am not aware of any way of combining several invisible stations into one. But it doesn't matter, just give them appropriate names (express, local, northbound, southbound, whatever).

Even though the software recognizes them as multiple stations, visually and operationally you can treat them as one large station.

Another hint, after building the invisible stations, with platforms etc from DLS, you can find many station buildings on the DLS that are just buildings, not operational stations. Pick the one that you want and place it adjacent to the invisible stations. At this point, you have just scratch built the station that you wanted but couldn't find.

There isn't any need to combine several invisible stations. AJS stations are designed to join on to any track and when you click on the ? button, among the various options is "Platform Length" which controls how far along the track you will still see your passenger figures and how far down the platform your train carriage doors will open. You can also specify how many passengers your session starts off with and how many are generated per hour.

AJS stations have covered pretty much all my requirements!

Thanx for the help, sadly i cant access the dls as i dnt have an FCT yet but seen the site for the AJS stattions they do look fantastic

The AJS stations can be named and numbered as one large station, it is in the settings along with a setup guide.
They can also be used 2 on a track to create platforms 2a + 2b.
It's a lot more fun to build your own stations from all the bits n bobs available and not too difficult once you get the hang of it .
Let your imagination run wild :wave:

To Deano5 re combining stations

I stand corrected - it does seem possible to combine AJS invisible stations, per the help file that come with them. But it also says that you have to download the "Call At" command since the "Drive to" won't work with combined stations. Whether the benefits of a combined station justify the additional effort is I suppose an individual decision. But at least I learned something new - thanks

seems like im going to have to get that FCT unless theres any other way f getting these AJS Stations?

Plus on normal stations can you renumber the platforms?

My content maneger doesnt seem to conect to the DLC I am running 06 which is why I thought I needed an FCT?

Correct, as Auran no longer support TRS2006 you will need to purchase an FCT to access the DLS, or you could upgrade to a newer, supported version.

also for a station.where (kuid...) can i find a bumper stop?...:'(

Bumper stop

Here is what I use: US_bumper_yellow_new, by LLJ, KUID 30671:23001
A search on the DLS (Name=bumper) will list several others.
