I found this very interesting site which, similar to the UK/Ireland Rail Map site, contains details of disused railways in continental Europe (mainly France, Belgium and Germany). the routes are projected on to a scrolling map and - especially useful for Transdem users - can be downloaded in a bulk kmz file that can be extrapolated in Google Earth then individual routes saved out to use with your DEM and mapping in Transdem.

This type of presentation is excellent when trying to figure out where long closed routes once ran, when years later the right of way has been reclaimed by agriculture, built over, or simply obscured for some reason.

The routes under "Interesting Railways" enough to keep builders occupied for a few years!

The site is multilingual, being available in English, French and German.
