Objects springing into view

I have a nice new route where the track dramatically crosses a valley via a viaduct. I designed it so that the track curves into the crossing, allowing it to be seen for some way ahead on the approach. However, when approached in driver mode, the track appears in the distance, along with the landscape, but the viaduct doesn't appear until the train is almost on top of it, thus totally ruining the desired effect. Despite maxing out the draw distances and trying several bridges, I can't stop it happening. Does anyone know how to stop this? (Trainz 2006 btw).

Whats the KUID of the viaduct, and how many poly ??

Maybe an idea to disguise with some outcrop or trees so it isnt noticable

Thanks for the quick reply! I've tried a couple of the standard viaducts that come with 2006. I don't think the poly count is particularly high. I originally used the double width (no track) bridge but all have the same effect. I don't want to disguise the bridge as the crossing was meant to be dramatic and the track was disigned to show it off from a distance. The wierd thing is that the track is drawn in way ahead and even the waterfalls and stuff I have in the background are drawn in. It just looks totally naff when all this is in place but the bridge isn't :( .

The distance at which spline objects appears is significantly less than the distance at which non-spline objects appear. AFAIK this feature is hard-wired in. Most bridges are splines, but there are some that are 'ordinary' objects. A bit of searching might turn up a non-spline bridge you could use instead....

Andy ;)
