NYCTA Subway Car Physics

There is a physics issue with Magicland's trains. When you apply the brakes, the train stops on a dime when you go into initial braking. Is there a fix to this problem?
 
I don't see that problem in TS2009. Braking strength is set by parameters in the enginespec file. You might post your problem in Content Creators to see if anyone can help you.

EDIT: I would like to know if anyone else notices the problem. I have TRS2006. Can anyone teach me how to edit the file to fix the problem

To edit your content, open up CMP. Select the item you want to edit. Choose edit in Explorer, and you can then change the config.txt file in Notepad.

Once your're done, save everything, close Explorer, and recommit the asset in CMP.

I tried out NYCTA R62 Subway car (kuid:58843:321) in CAB mode and I agree the initial brake setting stops it pretty fast. I compared its performance to that of the Modula City TRAM GT6 A (kuid2:32942:1010:2) and it is much better. I edited the R62 car config.txt file to change the its enginespec from kuid2:58843:19999:1 to kuid2:57344:1010:1. Works better.

if you're refering to the edit I described in the previous post then:
Open CMP
Find NYCTA R62 Subway car (kuid:58843:321)
Right click it and select Edit - Edit in Explorer
Double click on config.txt file to open it in Notepad
Scroll down to find the tag enginespec
Change the kuid number from kuid2:58843:19999:1 to kuid2:57344:1010:1
Save and commit.

hi. Please tell me how did u download magiclands train. I tried and it doesnt come on my game. after you download it from the cmp. what do u do? do you just exit cmp then start up trains? i have trainz 2006 too and I keep downloading magiclands trains but they dont work.

Have you got your CMP set to "Automatically commit" ??? Check you settings and it you haven't, change them so that anything that you download through CMP automatically commits.

NYCTA R62 Subway car (kuid:58843:321) has several errors that will prevent it from showing up in Surveyor in TS2009 but don't seem to bother its use in TRS2004, which this car was made for.
To fix, I started CMP and right clicked kuid:58843:321 and click errors and warnings with the following results:

Error: Attachment point 30 (a.psit38) in 'queues\passengers\attachment-points' was not found.
Error: Texture 'nycta_r62_body/poles.texture' is missing or could not be loaded for mesh 'hash-7E\content jb928e8c14\nycta_r62_body\nycta_r62_body.im'.

Right click and select Edit - Edit in Explorer. I viewed nycta_r62_body/nycta_r62_body.im mesh file with PEV's Mesh_Tex_Viewer.exe and see that there is no attachment point a.psit38 but there is an attachment point a.pass38. Also I see that poles.texture is applied in one place as TEX_AMBIENT which is not allowed in TS2009.

To fix this subway car I run the mesh file thru PEV's PM2IM program which cleans up the TEX_AMBIENT entry. Then open the config.txt file and change attachment point line 30 from a.psit38 to a.pass38. Saved everything and commited without error.

Those steps may work in 09 but i still have 06. I need help on that. I am not a content creator, but i would like to know where i can get gmax or anything you guys use to create your subway content. This way, i will be able to create a prototypical NYC Subway. All the lines. Can you help with that?
