i know this a screen shot place but does anyone know of an old vhs tape that talks about 5711 in orange (sorry if the details are broad but i havent seen the vhs in years and the only copy i knew of was thrown out)

M60, your post is a bit hard to understand due to no punctuation. While this is not the thread to ask, 5711 has never been an orange colour.

I don't know if the M60 is red or orange, but the tints fade on VHS film so that reds become orange over time. This is due to the cyan (light blue) tint giving way to ultraviolet light.

JCitron, I'm not sure, but I think he may mean a VHS tape about steam engine 5711 being in Orange (capital "O") not orange, as in colour.
While I can't be certain, I have a feeling that he may lead into "Where can I get 5711 from"

PS: The main fruit produce of Orange are apples! oranges are not grown in Orange due to it being too cold a climate!
(Deliberate starting the sentence with a non capital)

Interesting and thanks. I had that feeling too when I saw this post initially. :)

But seriously, though. Video does fade to these odd colours. It's pretty funny to see people with orange faces. :)

Sorry i ment the town Orange not the colour.
I can't fully recall the details of it but what i remember is a Z18 (i think) being taken for scrap at the back of a passenger train and 5711 in the town of Orange.
And i do apologise for my lack of punctuation and spelling.

That's interesting. We also have a town by the same name in central part of the state where I live. It's quite hilly and probably not like where you are. There used to be textiles, shoes, and paper made there.

Sad story seeing the locomotive being carted off for scrap.
