Hi All.
I've just loaded Trainz Ultimate Collection -ESS404/D which is dated 2002, so its probably a bit out of date by now. (I've had it ages, but didn't have a Pc that would run it) Will the current up-dates work on this version? Also can I get any 1950's steam locos and stock anywhere? I'm in the UK and would prefer to work with UK stock if possible.
Any advice would be welcome. Thanks, Nick. (Total novice)

Hi Nick,
Yes that one is a bit old now, I've got it my self allthough I no longer use it,
I can't remember exactly how much there is for this one, have you had a look on the Download Station Just click on the bar at the top of this page.

When you go to the download station to search for what you want, be sure the UTC box and everything below it is checked. That way you only get content that will operate in Trainz Ultimate.

UTC did not suport steam engines. Still some were made for it. I know there were Santa Fe and Southern Pacific 4-8-4 Northerns made for it. Any PC that runs UTC will run TRS2004. See if you can get it.

Hi nickq7 and welcome to the forum, my advice is, if you ever get a chance try and buy Trainz 2004, I would of recomended Trainz classics UK, but your computer might not be up to it.

However, since your using UTC, then Trainz 2004 should work on your system without a problem, I found Trainz 2004 far better than UTC with a lot more rolling stock added, plus you can get many steam engines to work within the sim, which are downloadable from the download station.

In the future if you get an up to date computer and some extra cash together, then I would recommend Trainz Classics UK, by far the best Trainz simulator ever, you get a mass of UK steam engines, coaches and rolling stock, plus it has continued free support and add ons from the Trainz Classics UK website.

Hope this helps

Newbie says thanks...

Thanks for advice, guys.
I'm hoping for a new laptop later this year, and will look at an up-date then. Meantime, I am really just fumbling with UTC, and not making too much sense of it all yet. Can't even drive a commuter without running a SPAD!
Its a learning curve for a silver surfer...
Thanks again, Nick.:hehe:

Nick,

When you do get a new laptop get one with a dedicated graphics "card" if you want to run the latest versions of Trainz. (Computers with "built in" graphics will not generally run later vesions).
