Not a Magic act

I am running TS 12, build 58414. Ok this is the second time I've had my route disappear. They both disappeared in the same manner. I was on the route last night, and when I shut it down I saved it (I never save the session from a route as I build it. I noticed that there was a red bug in the RH lower corner a couple of times when I ran the route, but everything ran great. All I was doing was building and if the problem stem from the red bug. There should be a way to find out what the red bug means so it can be fixed before anything happens. Otherwise you out of luck when you see it. The "session" are there in the Content Manager from when I ran a train over the route to see how it looked. But not the route. The only thing I can think of is to restore the route by import the users data through "import content". More to follow. Thanks funnnyfarm

According to most of the trainz community its not real safe to update past 49922 as that is the last real good 'stable'patch. I have never had this problem but perhaps JCitron can help you better.

I'm hoping you haven't run Trainz since the red bug, as that will wipe all traces of the information needed to diagnose it (especially if you cannot get into your route now).

If you have, and you have the session available, right-click it and use View Routes - check if the item that appears is indeed the associated route. If it's a unknown KUID, then you will have to take a risk with an extended database repair, although if the problem happened within the last 7 days it may be easier to locate and restore from <trainz install folder>/UserData/backups.

So when we get the red bug what are we suppose to do? From what I've read (witch is not much) there is nothing we can do when we get the red bug. I've open them and if your not a computer programmer we're SOL. So what are we suppose to with them? Thanks funnnyfarm

When you get a script bug, open it up and take a screenshot (Prt Sc). You can find the screencap in the userdata/screenshots folder. Post the screencap on the forum and someone with greater experience than either of us will have a look at it.

I have occasionally gotten the red bug script error notification and these were caused by bad rolling stock. If you read the error message(s) associated with the error, it is sometimes easy to tell who is causing the error. In a recent case I had two errors that were related to a very nice looking Russian Crane and to a flatcar by Majakeer.

Hope this helps and I surely hope it's not related to a system script.
