I think this should be looked at for some other areas too. When I served at Fort Hood, Texas, I saw lines of cars waiting to get on and off post similar to rush hour traffic in cities. Some folks were driving from a few towns away because that was where they could find housing. And from seeing soldiers in NYC use mass transit to serve in Reserve units, even something similar to the proposed NC arrangement could benefit other bases such as a short transit line for Fort Hood, maybe one on the base also since it is called the largest active US post (not in geographical terms, in number of people though it is big in area also).
