no traffic in 2010EE

You have to select a "region" when you start a new route. The "default" region generates no cars on your roads.

If you want to change the region in an existing route you can do that by changing the config file in CM3.2 ... hope this helps.

I assume the region also dictates which side of the road on which cars drive.
The traffic toggle turns traffic on and off on all road splines. Is there any way of varying the number of vehicles? At times there is lots of traffic and sometimes hardly any at all. Is Trainz clever enough to vary the traffic level depending on the time of day?

I have spotted some user contributed content relating to traffic but haven't investigated those yet.

The number of vehicles on a road can be changed by changing the Carrate tag in the road config. The value in the tag is the time between car spawns, so the lower the value the higher the cars on the road.

Hmm, thanks. So the car rate is constant for wherever that type of road was used. Maybe I should have been a bit more careful when picking the road types for my route.

Cheers

Hi Stockline,

Which ever region you have used, right click on it in CMP2 and select 'edit in explorer' open the config.txt file and check if it has car kuid numbers listed.
They sould be listed as car0 <kuid2:xxxxxx:xxxxxx:x> then car1 <kuid2:xxxxxx:xxxxxx:x>, car2 <kuid2:xxxxxx:xxxxxx:x> etc. up to car15.

If cars are not listed you will have no traffic or if they are listed and you do not have them you will have no traffic.
To change the side the cars drive on, look for a tag in the road config "ontheright" If that tag has a 1 (one) after it the cars will drive on the right, to change them to the left side of the road change the one to a zero.

Hope this helps,

The cars are defined in the cars list in the region kuid for the route. The road kuid you reference has nothing to do with it. How did you change the region from default to UK?

Bob

I been looking at the config.txt file and there no car0 not even the default inbuild roads which has cars. None of my road adons has this in the config txt.

P.S.

I have running UK region, But get American Police Cars.

It may be I am running TS2010.

Hyderpotter,
The list of cars is in the region config, not the road config. Open the region config, to change the cars just change the kuid numbers. You can put any cars you have in your database in the region config. The best way is to clone a region, replace the existing cars with the cars you want and rename the region, save and commit.
