I have been working on my trainz Sim 12 custom route and decided to put in some re-fueling points for water, diesel etc. went to pull the loco next to them but they wont work. the water crane spins around but has no animation. Does anyone know, do you have unlimited fuel in this particular game. I've heard people say you just have to click on the properties button for the locos, but there is nothing in there about fueling. just to urn the lights on & off and turn the auto fireman on/off if its a steam train. If anyone can help i'd be cool to see them working. thanks

As mentioned almost all diesels in the game do not consume fuel or even have queues (storage) set up for fuel so have unlimited fuel as far as the game is concerned. None of these will interact with a fuel station even if the station is actually capable of fueling a diesel. A couple of built-in ones from WOT and I think maybe a couple of the Russian diesels in TS12 are fuel consumers also a few 3rd party diesels. But all of these work with custom 3rd party loco scripts as the game itself has no consideration of fuel for diesels - not as of TS12 anyhow.

Steam locos are different and must have fuel and water to function in CAB mode.

To work, a fueling station or water tank or column or sand station must be an industry which is a special type of scenery object. Check and make sure that all the fuel, water and sand scenery objects you place are industry enabled and that the locos are capable of loading and consuming the resources you want to use. You may have to set up the industries when you set them out in surveyor so they will work properly in the game.

I believe the Chinese diesel locos are set up to consume fuel - at a somewhat thirsty rate too - and some of the steam locos will use up coal and water, but sadly most don't. This legacy is a throwback to the early model railway orientated days of the programme, maybe it's something N3V should be working to address across the board for the next version. Having traction units actually consume fuel and water lends far more satisfaction, particularly when driving longer routes. I often wonder whether I should use Trainz primarily to build electric routes as at least with electric traction this aspect is masked!

Built-in industry "multiple industy new" is able to load or unload any product set in it, and it can refuel any vehicle with "product-queue", including those Russian diesels. If correct fuel is set, of course.

So as long as I put that little piece of track in that says "MULTIPLE INDUSTRY NEW" where the diesel pump is it should work? as long as its a loco that consumes fuel?
