Alco Spoken Here
Recently, due to a trip to Europe, I have become interested in trains run by CIWL, namely, the Orient Express and the Night Ferry. In terms of the Night Ferry, I have only really become interested in the pre-BR train, as I know some changes were made after the railroads were nationalized. I have found some information about it, such as the unique type of sleepers used, guard and mail vans, the ferry service, and switching operations.
Even with this information, I still have some questions:
First of all, was the train non-stop, or did it let passengers on and off at certain stops. I imagine that second class passengers would be allowed to get off at Dover and Dunkirk, because from what I have gathered, the second class cars would not be loaded onto the ferry.
What would the normal motive power be for this train?
Finally, what would a normal consist be for the train on the British and French sides of the run?
As far as I know, the F class sleepers haven't been made in Trainz yet, and I can't seem to find any in model form, so these must be pretty rare cars. I have managed to track down a set of drawings for them though.
Thanks,
Jackson
