Hi Everyone!
My son and I have recently downloaded Trainz on our iPad. He desperately wants the Daylight 4449. I have no idea how to download or if I can.
Would anyone know how to do it? He has been bugging me about it forever now! Lol... any help is greatly appreciated!!! xoxo irene and brenden.

I'm sorry to say this, especially because I love 4449 also, but no. The only way to get it is to have a computer. You can get one from what's called the Download Station, but the stuff on the Download Station is/was not designed for iPads. I would recommend getting Trainz 12 and becoming a member of JointedRail (which is free), who have the best Southern Pacific #4449 out there. However, I must note that its actually not of Southern Pacific #4449, but the group of Southern Pacific locomotives it belonged to - the GS-4. The model comes with 4 different tender paint schemes, three versions of the GS-4's, and multiple road numbers, including #4449. JointedRail also has some more AWESOME stuff on their website. If you were to get a computer, I would recommend a laptop, which I have my Trainz on. Look for one that's intended for gaming, but also take into mind that the laptop isn't going to be used just for Trainz.

Just don't get one of those extremely stupid ones bedazzled with lights and other horrible design elements that cause them to be expensive (For plastic! Woohoo!)

We have a laptop so I will try this. Thank you for the insight. This helps a TON! :)

Want some more steam? Here's the go-to website: http://www.steammachine.com/bdaneal/
Note: They have a few problems, so they'll need fixing. It's not as difficult as it seems.

Jointedrail is a great content site, both payware and freeware, plus there are tons of other sites like SAXRT, Trainz forge, rrmods, and the list goes on. I would recommend the apple apps though for realism and a good experience. Just a good way to pass the time during boy scout meetings. So if your son wants to have fun getting a really good train experience, Trainz 2009-2012 are really good choices. They have way more features, wonderful graphics and you can have a wider variety of DLC.

Unless I've missed it, nobody has pointed out that the iPad version does not run on a PC and you will need to purchase TS12 from N3V.

It would be helpful too if you wouldn't mind posting the specs of your current laptop. We don't want you to purchase something that won't be able to run properly due to built-in graphics and an underpowered CPU.

I am not trying to make any enemies here but to the original poster, did you register your game's serial number, if not, it would be a good idea so that we don't think that you have a illegal copy.

Looking at the original poster's timeline, they have Trainz Ipad and Trainz Android registered.

Good point. Iv had to completely rebuild my computer. We have just ordered a new mother board and that will hopefully clean things up.

I'm no expert but from what I understand it might be worth adding a couple of extra GB of RAM to help things along?
Also (and I'm not trying to spend your money for you- just passing on what I learned during a similar experience!) it's worth considering how old your graphics card is. I have a pc that's a few years old and the graphics card is already unsupported by it's manufacturer, meaning I get much lower quality graphics than trainz is capable of.

All the best :)

Hmmm..
don't know where I would find this information at... I use my laptop for couponing.. lol
