Here is the frist look of the yard and this is justa fraction of it. I spaced the rail so that it should be little easier on ploys if you are filling the yard. I am going to change the track i think after i am done to a lower poly track to help.

Stupid Question to early in the piece i spose sureshot but are you going to release that when your done or is it just a project for yourself,i will keep a close eye on this as i could use a large yard(dunno where yet but i still need one).
Cheers Mick

Matruck to answer your ? Yes it be released on our site when i am done. Long way to go before i am done i will keep posting pics as i get closer with it.
Speters_0501 Well its not to scale i use Goggle Earth and also have a book of North American Railyards that helps. Try to keep as close as i can i don't live up there i live south from there so it makes it hard to see all i need to see. But it big huge when i am done don't know if there has really been any big yards cause of Frame Rates in Trainz. But i am going to try this see what happens. Like i say i am tring something different moving the tracks farther away to see how it helps frame rates instead of all bunched in.

Howdy sureshot,
Thats great news that you will release it,I have just found a old trains mag from June 2000 and there was a story on bnsf's Argentine yard in Kansas City, the yard takes up 780 acres.Any idea how many baseboards your yard will be.
Cheers Mick.

It's going to be a bunch what you see there on the map shot is only a 1/4 of the yard if that. There is still a ton to do.

That is an interesting yard to do and it looks a bit like you might be doing it from the track layout in North American Railyards. Keep in mind that that diagram in the book was condensed to fit actoss two pages for publication and that the real track layout would stretch out two or three times or more from what is shown in the book. You could check it against USGS maps or GoogleEarth plans.

Yeah thats where i got it from and i have used google earth to look it over i made few changes i kept the track spread out hoping to help frame rates when i am done if not might make few more changes see what happens.
