I have read the latest on trs09 and trsx what I have read these 2 are suppose to be the best so when It comes out I would buy them. but one thing does anyone know what are the computer requirements for these to games. I jsut hope they still make make surveyor so I can bulid my lines also udner surveyor I would like to see like to take an engine or piece of rolling stock under surveyor and put that into the session and use them for local industries as well as the engines and the rolling stock that are provided within the session. and also maybe a big control knob like trs04 has and trs06 has if the person wants to drive the train without getting inside the cab. that would be another option along with the inside cab mode. hope to have manual decouple button I like useing that alot.

From what I've read about the two, the computer specs will be similar to what you need to run TRS2006 and Classics, so I would assume this would mean any "modern" PC will be okay.

The other aspects of the program are supposedly similar to what we're used to, but with enhancements to make them better - like in Surveyor where the texturing will be easier with a smaller radius, and the grid size can be set smaller in areas to make smoother hills.

Hopefully this helps with your concerns about the new programs.

Hi BM
This is what I've uncovered so far.
2 Gigs of Ram and 256 MB graphic card.
Of course, as you probably know, Trainz recommended specs are always conservative and underrated:
IE: 2006; 512 Mb of Ram, as if, OK for a small layout with one loco :D .
I intend to upgrade to 3.5 GB's which is the max XP can handle.

You can also transfer your Route from 06 to 09, so surveyor must be similar, but with several extras (unknown at present).

I can't fully understand why its being released in two parts though, unless I've misread the hype along the way.

Also, I can't decide to pre-order or wait for the UK shop release, but that's a different story.

Off Topic and a bit of fun: Looking at your location. Do you remember that old song that names all the states. It starts :- What did Delaware boy, what did Delaware: She wore a brand New Jersey. Etc

Cheers
Pete.

Two versions:

World Builder Edtion (available for download purchase around 1st of December) is the new program with many new features and enhancements. Judging from the beta, it will include all the content from earlier versions including the French and German versions released as TRS07. Some new assets created to the TS2009 standards. You can join the open beta testing program at www.trainzdev.com.

Trainz Engineer Edition (available sometime after the first of the year) will include mostly new assets created to the higher TS2009 standards. Not known is if it will also include the old content. And I'm sure some new features that didn't make it into WBE.

The idea is that you can use WBE to create fantastic new content that might get included in TEE.

Best bet is to buy both.

I see a problem.
Since TEE will come out several months after WBE and we are suposed to build stuff for TEE, how will we know we got it right?:o
Have you ever made a layout without running it?
I hope it works with TRS2006 so we test our layouts. Nah, then we might not want TEE.
But...

Oh, wait. I just read more on it. I am not nearly as confused now. ;>

You can run your routes in WBE, just think of it as the next edition in the TRS0x line. TEE is different in that it is targeted to users that don't want to build routes hence no surveyor. Some of the session creation features of surveyor are being added to the Driver module of TEE so that users can setup their own operating sessions and save them.

WBE = next gen TRS0x
TEE = Trainz Driver on steriods with lots of TS2009 routes and assets. And CM2 for adding more routes and assets.

Any route built in TS2009 WBE can be run in either WBE or TEE.
