From now on I'll be showing you some diagrams and hand-written sketches of future routes that I'm doing right now and later down the road. So the first route I'll do such a thing for is Garrard Pass. It's not a prototypical route but inspired by a real-life route; Donner Pass. So here it is, I hope y'all like it:

GARRARD PASS PITSTOPS/STATIONS:
Heitmann Diesel Refuel + Helpers
Heitmann Amtrak
Paxton Amtrak
Paxton Diesel Refuel
Goodwinn Diesel Refuel
Goodwinn Amtrak
Willis Amtrak
Willis Diesel Amtrak
Elton Peak Amtrak
Elton Peak Diesel Refuel
Andersonville Diesel Refuel
Andersonville Amtrak
Boozerdale Amtrak
Boozerdale Diesel Refuel
Davidson Amtrak
Davidson Diesel Refuel + Helpers

The Heitmann Diesel Refueling Depot and the Helper Unit Tracks; there are 12 of them. Up next: Heitmann Amtrak.

Hmmm, hilly/mountainous terrain. Not bad. :)

If I may make a suggestion, note in your second shot where the tarck is running right up to the edge of the baseboard. Probably not the most realistic way to do it. Try adding a baseboard there and putting mountains in there and blending it in with your existing terrain. :)

yeah I look into that later.

I hope that you take this as constructive critisism because I'm just trying to help. I find that mountains can be very difficult to do and they take a LOT of practice. Additionally, mountains can take on many different variations. They don't all look alike. With that said, I find it easier to first enlarge my cursor circle to the largest possible when I first start making mountains. I set the sensitivity very low and then start moving the cursor over the landscape. This will give me a gentle rolling landscape that serve well as foothills and then I can adjust sensitivity and cursor size to detail areas that I want more prominent. It does take a lot of practice, but I don't wind up with a lot of the pointy cones that are apparent in your shots. Mountains and hills formed by nature aren't usually that 'pointy'. They're generally less pronounced and sloping although this isn't always the case. Some are very jagged and protruding such as those seen along some fault lines.

I actually like the high sensitivity. Now where are the good trees and shrubs at?

forgive me for being dumb, but how can u post pics, like from my pictures?

Upload your pictures to a file hosting service such as Imageshack - www.imageshack.us - and then post the link into a forum post.

Keep the size 800 x 600 or less for the main forums, but the pictures can be bigger in the screenshots forum.

Wow! Great work Kris94, I remember making routes just like that when I first installed the Trainz CE! Your future looks bright!

Could be this thread is going to go the same way as the Arrington Subdivision one?
