New SBL Midland Div.

I thought I'd post a few screens of my in-progress New SBL Midland Div.
THIS is Outer Midland- Industrial. Today, my test train is hauling 532 tons of scrap metal on wheels up to the end of the track. 532 tons is very heavy for just those two engines. the grade is terrible on Midland Pass. Three engines might have done better, but two are all that are available.

On Midland pass, tunnels were too expensive and lengthy, so we decided to just cut through the hills.

From this viewpoint, you can see the grade.

We travel through canyons and waterways to get to the summit. The train didn't make it. It stalled at the top and then slipped back down to the cut. I tried again and the coupler broke. I need some serious horsepower on the Midland Pass.

I might eventually get to finishing it. It's about 15 boards right now.

Nice work, John. It is good to incorporate grades into routes instead of them being just flat all the way through. Well done.

Best wishes,
Padster

the only problem is that the grade is veerrrrryyyyy harsh, takes like five geeps to haul 1000 tons up that hill. then the downgrade is like a fill overwater, and it's pretty steep. tried a big boy and couldn't take much. i wish i'd checked the grade before i did the scenery, because i can't change the grade now. Wish me luck. =)
