I've been tinkering around when i come home on the weekends, and here's the result so far, I'm "modeling*" the former PRR Indiana Branch, now operated by the Buffalo & Pittsburgh.
I've started modeling backwards to the north from the Homer City Power Generating station. The line then heads north through downtown Indiana, splitting the IUP campus in half, where in Creekside it meets up with the side branch to the Shelocta Power Generation station. I've gotten to Indiana so far, and I intend to go all the way to its connection with the B&P Main in Cloe, PA.
*Modeling as in a not-very prototypical representation, since i could find no track maps, etc...
Enough rambling, here's the pictures!
We caught up with a Norfolk Southern run-through coal drag in rarely seen daylight running. our first view is out the back door, about a mile from the power plant.
Here we can see the power headed towards the plant in the distance.
A state trooper sits along the old route 56 crossing. The line from Indiana to Homer City was jsut recently re-opened, until about 6 months ago coal was trucked to the facility, as it still is.
A slightly older picture of the first build shows the coal off-loading area. Conveyors transport the coal to the plant.
Now again, I only have about 36 hours total into this right now, and its not a 100% acurate copy, just a resonably belivable representation.
