New Route = Florida Freight Mayhem 1280x800

This is my new fictious freelance route for Trainz, which is composed of Florida scenery and is "owned jointly by FEC, CSX, Tri-Rail, Amtrak, and NS"

I will use this route as a funnel of the three big roads in Florida. The main is a double track segment.

Here's our first operation: CSX O744 which does smaller haul switch ops for the Power Plant by Main Highway.

Keep in mind some of this is WIP and being built as I type and as I start High School.

After running around his train, 744 moves across Main Hwy. I took a shot of the crossing for a scenic feel.

Then the unloading process goes at a crawl. The default power station is used now, but that can change any time soon.

To go back to the bigger yard, O744 runs around again and shoves across Main Hwy.

Then a shot across Riverside Park.

Thanks.

Yard job 420 carries TOFC and COFC to the big ramp. This is what I totally intended, both long haul action and last mile jobs, to the extreme.

Thanks!
Mitch

Well, these UNLOAD coal. There are several in the state, matter of fact. Two in suburban Miami, one in Orlando, one in Palatka, one in Lakeland, one in Indiantown, and one north of Tampa. Well, I didn't mean coal mines, but power plants.

Beautiful screen shots (but coal mines in Florida)?

Well phooey - I should have thought of that. I live quite close to Indiantown and know of the power plant there. Must be wearing my dummy hat today. Apologies.

Lots of phosphate mining west of Tampa but it only goes as far as Port Tampa for shipment (covered hoppers). Tracks go right behind the late Chester Hollys Model RR shop.

South Florida is slowly shipping itself north in the form of limestone (marl) for concrete. Several hundered cars worth go by where I live every day.

Aggregate business has been going up lately despite the slowdown. Three out of five FEC northbounds carry aggregate materials on top. There's one that goes to Tampa twice a month too, that one was instated for transfer to CSX in May. I will be sure to include some aggregate mining.

I go often to the Dune Dog Drive-in right across from the tracks in Jupiter and have counted as many as 160 hoppers full of Florida (lol) going north in a single train.

At least in my FEC route I hope to get to Jupiter by the end of the year, LOL. I've been giving CSX its share of work lately. Screenshots for prototypical CSX will be posted soon.
